What is Coffee Break®? Coffee Break® is the Alzheimer Society's major nationwide annual fundraiser where friends, co-workers and customers gather in communities across Canada to raise funds for local Alzheimer Societies. Participants at these events make a donation in exchange for a cup of coffee. The money raised stays in our province to help support local programs and services.
Large corporations, small businesses, hospitals, schools, service organizations, health-care facilities andprivate residences are just a few examples of ideal places to host coffee breaks. You can organize an event, large or small in your community, workplace or home.
Coffee Break® will take place across Newfoundland and Labrador kicking off on Thursday Sept. 15, 2011 but can encompass the whole months of September, October and even into November.
Hosting a Coffee Break® is easy. You can hold a break in your office, at home, at your church, in a local mall or anywhere you can set up a stand and serve coffee or give out coffee cup cut-outs. We provide you with a Coffee Break organizer package- compete with coffee! You can offer tea and juice as well as coffee, and add cookies or pastries to increase the donations or use the coffee cup cut-outs for supporters to write their name on in recognition for their donation. Coffee cup cut-outs were designed in conjunction with our Coffee Break® to recognize the donations made by participants. These coffee cup cut-outs can be sold for $1 in grocery stores, specialty stores, or anywhere a Coffee Break® is held. The bar codes on the back of each cut -out make it easy to keep cut-outs at checkout counters!
Do I have to hold a Coffee Break® in order to sell cut-outs? No! While many companies use the Coffee Break® to launch cut-out sales, we have had such great success with the program that many stores choose to sell cut-outs year round or for the months of September/October!
How do I get cut-outs? If your company or employer would like to participate in the cut-out program in conjunction with a Coffee Break® or as a separate campaign, please fill out our online registration form where you can indicate how many cut outs you’d like us to send!
